I’ve written about Mollydooker before, they make some awesome Shiraz down in Australia. Their Merlot follows in very fine footsteps. Dark garnet, full body with a nose of blackberry, blueberry, scorched earth, copper. On the palate blueberry jam, cooked blackberry, black pepper and vanilla. Very high heat–this wine basically punched me in the face to start, but then opened up to nice silky elegance. The price is too good to pass up on this one for New World Merlot.
