I think this is the best value wine I have tasted from the Iceland alcohol government monopoly (ATVR). Light body, spice forward. This wine is a blend of Nero d’Avola and Shiraz (Syrah) grapes from Sicily, Italy. It has a very delicate perfume of black cherry, earth, and cedar wood. The taste is bright and beautiful, with notes of red cherry, leather, and cedar wood. At the time of writing, this is for sale for less than 2.000 ISK per bottle, excellent value to have at home in Iceland!
