This was an absolute blockbuster. Not only was this sample a beautiful wine, but it has been aged incredibly well here in Iceland. Full body and rich. The nose is an opulent bouquet of wild herbs, cocoa, and truffle. A stunning palate of black cherry, rosemary, and cocoa. I was worried that a wine of this age and make would have very subdued characteristics, but it was quite the opposite. Saint-Émilion is on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, and are known for wines that are predominantly Merlot grape. This wine is mostly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
