Summer Red Wine, Primitivo

I’m guessing that you either know Primitivo wine and love it for it’s bright fruit and floral notes, or you don’t know it yet but will want to try it very soon. Primitivo grape is grown mainly in Puglia in Italy, i.e. the “heel of the boot”. Primitivo and Zinfandel grapes are clones of the Crljenak Kastelanski grape from Croatia, and in wines from both clones you’ll get characteristic vibrant fruit and flower notes. This Surani Primitivo wine is light body, fruit-forward. Black cherry, violet, and sage herb on the nose. On the palate it has raspberry tart, violet, and copper notes. I recommend chilling this down a bit and enjoying on a summer day!
